Basic training for puppies

1.From the moment the dog arrives at home, he must start to establish rules for him. Many people think that milk dogs are cute and just play with them casually. After weeks or even months at home, the dogs realize that they need to be trained when they discover behavioral problems. By this time it is usually too late. Once a bad habit is formed, it is much more difficult to correct it than to train a good habit from the beginning. Don't think that being strict with the dog as soon as you get home will hurt him. On the contrary, first be strict, then be lenient, and then be bitter, and then sweet. A dog who has established good rules will respect the owner more, and the owner's life will be much easier.

2. Regardless of size, all dogs are dogs and require training and socialization to integrate into human life. Many people who raise small dogs think that since dogs are so small, even if they really have a bad personality, they won’t be able to hurt people, and that’s okay. For example, many small dogs jump up their legs when they see people, usually very high. The owner finds it cute, but it can be stressful and frightening for people who don't know dogs well. Having a dog is our freedom, but only if it doesn't cause trouble to those around us. The owner can choose to let the puppy jump and ignore it if he feels safe, but if the person facing him is afraid of dogs or children, the owner must also have the obligation and ability to stop this behavior.

3. The dog has no bad temper and must obey the leader, the owner. There are only two situations in the world of dogs - the owner is my leader and I obey him; or I am the leader of the owner and he obeys me. Maybe the author's point of view is outdated, but I have always believed that dogs evolved from wolves, and wolves follow very strict status laws, so this point of view is well-founded, and there is currently no strong evidence and research to support other points of view. What the author is most afraid of hearing is "Don't touch, my dog has a bad temper, only so-and-so can touch him, and he will lose his temper if you touch him." Or "My dog is so funny, I took his snacks and he barked at me Grinning." These two examples are very typical. Due to excessive pampering and improper training by the owner, the dog did not find its correct position and showed disrespect for humans. Losing your temper and grinning are warning signs that the next step is to bite. Don't wait until the dog bites someone else or the owner to think that he bought a bad dog. It can only be said that you have never understood him, and you have not trained him well.

4. The training of dogs should not be treated differently because of the breed, and it should not be generalized. Regarding the breed of Shiba Inu, I believe that everyone will see information on the Internet when buying a dog to do homework, saying that Shiba Inu is stubborn and difficult to teach. But even within a breed there are individual differences. I hope that the owner will not draw conclusions arbitrarily before knowing his dog’s personality, and don’t start training with the negative thought of “this dog is of this breed, and it is estimated that it will not be taught well”. The author's own Shiba Inu is now under 1 year old, has passed a personality assessment, and is being trained as a licensed service dog. Under normal circumstances, service dogs are mostly adult Golden Retrievers and Labradors with good obedience, and few Shiba Inu have passed successfully. Gouzi's potential is unlimited. If you find him really stubborn and disobedient after spending a year with Gouzi, it can only mean that you need to spend more time teaching him. There is no need to give up prematurely before the dog is not yet a year old.

5. Dog training can be properly punished, such as beating, but violent beating and continuous beating are not recommended. If the dog is punished, it must be based on his understanding that he has done something wrong. If the dog does not understand why he was beaten violently for no reason, it will lead to fear and resistance to the owner.

6. Spaying makes training and socialization a lot easier. Dogs will become gentle and obedient due to the reduction of sex hormones.
